“Every day is a good day” is a simple statement, but very few know its real meaning. The “good day” does not refer to a nice day as compared to a bad day. It means the absolute, not the relative, day. Today is the absolute day, the only day in the eternity of time. Today is never repeated. Every day is fresh and new just as one’s life is new each day. Every day is a good day, but the good is not of one’s own making. It is good in the original, or absolute, sense—rain or shine, war or peace, sickness or health. The past is only reference; the future is only hope. Today is real.

About pAngkorFiSH

A very good morning or evening and salam Satu Malaysia. I am Ong Wei Siang, a secondary school teacher. Recently, I am teaching Sixth Form’s Biology at SMK Seri Ampang, Ipoh, Perak. My hometown is a beautiful island in Perak, known as Pangkor Island. I obtained my first degree in Biotechnology from UPM, Serdang in 2003. At the same time, I was appointed as a military officer with a rank of second lieutenant by DYMM Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. Then, I continued my studies in Diploma of Education, major in Biology and minor in Additional Mathematics in Federal Teacher Training Institute, Pulau Pinang. My first posting was at SMK St. Patrick, Mukah, Sarawak, from January 2006 until December 2008. After three years of service in Sarawak, I was transferred to SMK Seri Ampang, Ipoh, from January 2009 until now.
For the time being, I am pursuing Master degree in Biology Education at Sultan Idris Education University, Tanjung Malim. ‘What is the purpose of further study?’ This is the question that was asked by many of my friends and colleagues, since there is no any promotion for a master degree holder by Ministry of Education (MoE). In my opinion, a Masters degree as well as a Doctorate will equip me with qualifications, experience and confidence to further my career and to develop my personal potential in achieving my goals.
This is the first time I am blogging. I would like to thank Dr. Sadiah binti Baharom, from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to become a blogger. Dr. Sadiah had introduced some new ICT programs to me. These programs are useful as I can integrate these new technologies into my teaching and learning process. End of this semester does not indicate the end in learning and applying ICT. In fact, this is just a beginning for a true learner. Learning is a life long process that will benefit us for the rest of our life. As an educator and a learner at the same time, we should keep ourselves updated with the latest educational information and technology through blogging, reading and surfing the internet. The world with ICT is a world where everyone can meet and learn from each other. With ICT, our life will be more wonderful and meaningful. Let’s work together towards a healthy society coloured by the application of ICT. GAMBATEH!
